Mrs. Garza after she was presented with the STAR award for troop 807 at the Five Trails District Dinner (Feb 2, 2018). The ‘STAR’ Award recipient is an adult recognized by his/her unit for outstanding contribution to the unit’s program during 2017.

Philmont 2018

If you want to go to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico from July 6-18, 2018 (A youth must be 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and completed the 8th grade by date of participation.), bring $100 deposit to Scoutmaster Towell.

Total cost for the trip is $940
First payment (after deposit) of $420 is due by September 18, 2017
Second and final payment of $420 due by February 12, 2018

New BSA requirements

As of Jan. 1, 2017, all Boy Scouts — regardless of rank — must begin using the new Boy Scout requirements
The BSA established 2016 as a transition year, allowing Boy Scouts to choose whether to use the new requirements or finish up their current rank with the old ones.
